Society for Electronics & Communication Engineers [SELCOME]

Society of Electronics & Communication Engineers (SELCOME) was established in March, 2004 by its founder Faculty in-charge Mr. Sanjeev Dewra, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE. Mr. Sanjeev Dewra did a great job in developing the rules and regulations for the working of the society in the form of its four pages written constitution duly approved by honorable principal Dr. H.B. Sharda.

The aim with which the society was established is very clearly written in its constitution. It was founded to promote the welfare of students as well as college by providing the students a platform to enhance their overall personality. A managing committee is made from the students to manage the activities of the society under the keen guidance of the faculty in-charge.

The society aims at inculcating a never ending quest for knowledge in students and transforming them into dynamic and innovative personalities. For this purpose society aims to conduct various events in competitions such as debate, group discussion, technical quiz, paper presentation and many more. Special events such as to rendezvous the students with renowned personalities and to celebrate some important days such as Engineer’s Day, Teacher’s Day, World Telecommunication Day are also held. Another motive of the society is to provide the students with the knowledge of the latest innovations and developments especially in the Electronics world.

On the whole, it is the platform where students can apply their managerial, technical and communication skills which raise their confidence to perform yet better always. Students of other departments are given equal opportunity to exhibit their talent by performing in various events. Finally the punch line of the society “Regulating Ideas, Amplifying Knowledge” says all about its motives.

A number of technical events along with technical workshops have been organized in the college by SELCOM for improving the technical skills among the students. The department successfully organized a Technical fest 2014 on 11th – 13th Feb 2014.
